Transatlantic travels: Bernardo de Carvalho´s Mongolia and Francisco José Viegas´ Longe de Manaus

This article analyzes the novels Mongólia (2003), by Bernardo Carvalho, and Longe de Manaus (2005), by José Francisco Viegas, from the displacement's process that the transatlantic trips represented in the novels (to Beijing, Mongólia and Rio de Janeiro, in the first novel; Port, Luanda and Manaus, in the second novel) evidence to establish relationships with the recent history of these countries and their place.
