The article based on Paul Gilroy's claim in the "Preface" to the brazilian edittion in the Black Atlantic, that there are "Patterns of fluidity and mobility that charaterize the extranational adventure and the intercultural creativity", thus leading us to annalize Bruce Chatwin's The Viceroy of Ouidah and other works concerned with the life of Francisco Félix de Souza, a decisive character to the history of the brazilian influence in Dahomey.
