Abstract

In this article will be discussed how mythical stories addressed to adult audience can activate the literature for children and youths, contributing to the formation of a cultural identity, as postulated by Stuart Hall. To do so, the short story As Mãos dos Pretos- by Luís Bernardo Honwana- will be examined like a narrative that deconstructs the biblical myth of the creation of man and brings the issue of black identity.
