Abstract

This study analyzes Bishop Edir Macedo’s preaching, from Universal Church of God’s Kingdom (IURD), exhibited on the television program Santo Culto em seu Lar. The objective was to verify the discursive strategies used in the construction and enunciation of his discourse and relations of meaning from it. It was found that Bishop’s preaching uses a set of enunciation in which his authority as a priest is reinforced, legitimizing his actions and constantly leading the relationship with stakeholders.
