Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the role of visualities in the process of construction and reconstruction of fluid identities that inhabit us. It is, therefore, a paper which faces the challenge of bringing out some nuances of the production and reproduction of identities, based on informative cartoons, and the challenge of listing topics related to the process of identification that outcomes from the imaginary realm representation projections. Such matters are undertaken by researchers at the Master Programme in Communication of the State University of Londrina, Brazil. Amongst the authors which theoretically guide the research we point out Teixeira (2005), in the field study of cartoons, and D. Kellner (2001), S. Moscovici (2003), E. Shohat and R. Stam (2005) and S. Hall (1997, 2001) regarding identity and representation issues.
