Abstract

This article aims to investigate the use of the body as the command interface on the relation between interactivity and immersion in narrative video games. At first, the fact that the system requires the participation of the player would draw attention to the artificiality of the action, thus breaking the immersive trance. One way to allow coexistence between interactivity and immersion is to use the player’s body as command interface. On the other hand, this work intend to demonstrate that even consoles that do not use isomorphic moves are capable of creating immersive environments, for the immersion and the feeling of ownership of the virtual body depend, among other things, of the transparency of the command interface, as well as audiovisual stimuli.
