Objective: To describe the epidemiological profile, training characteristics, and musculoskeletal injuries among amateur tennis players in the city of Caruaru, Pernambuco, Brazil. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 44 amateur tennis players using a structured questionnaire including sociodemographic data, training characteristics, and a history of tennis-related musculoskeletal injuries. Results: All participants were male, predominantly aged 40 to 49 years (40.9%), and had a high level of education. Most players had more than five years of experience, trained two to three times weekly, and attended sessions lasting up to two hours. Participants adhered frequently to pre-training warm-up routines; however, post-training recovery strategies, particularly cool-down activities, were notably rare (88.6%). Most participants reported previous injuries, primarily affecting the elbow and shoulder, with tendinopathies identified as the most prevalent condition. Conclusion: Amateur tennis players demonstrated a high prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries, especially in the upper limbs, associated with specific training attributes and inadequate implementation of post-exercise recovery strategies. These findings highlight the importance of evidence-based preventive interventions that emphasize training load regulation and musculoskeletal health promotion among recreational tennis players.
