Call for Submissions | Revista Aspas 17.1 – Epistemologies of Research in the Performing Arts

This call for submissions for the dossier "Epistemologies of Research in the Performing Arts" will accept contributions until 17 January 2027.

The publication of Issue 17.1 of Revista Aspas, scheduled for the end of the first half of 2027, will mark the implementation of the journal's new editorial model through the adoption of continuous submission and publication.

From this issue onward, the journal will publish articles, interviews, reviews, review essays, and open-format submissions on a continuous basis, regardless of thematic dossiers, expanding the possibilities for dialogue and for the circulation of forms of knowledge production in the field of the performing arts.

This dossier welcomes contributions both from the field of research on the performing arts—such as history, theory, criticism, and the analysis of performance phenomena—and from the field of research in the performing arts, including practice as research, research-creation, and other forms of inquiry emerging from artistic processes. We are interested in considering how this plurality of approaches does not dissolve, but rather makes more visible, certain questions specific to the performing arts as a field of knowledge production.

We are also interested in understanding how research in the performing arts engages in dialogue with other fields of knowledge, and how perspectives are displaced and transformed through these encounters.
