Abstract

In this presentation, we intend to highlight the leading role of women from the countryside, waters and forests - self-described as Margaridas - in the struggle for rights in Brazil. Today considered the largest women's action in Latin America, the March brings together the struggle for redistribution, recognition and representation from the territories, challenging the structures of racism, patriarchy and capitalism, and the interdictions historically directed at them, rural women. These women challenge the boundaries of feminism itself, reworking it based on their experiences and specificities. We will present common experiences shared and ethnographed at the 6th Marcha das Margaridas, which culminated in August 2019 in the federal capital.
