Call for papers - Special Issue "Covid-19 and the fields of Anthropology"
Cadernos de Campo is an international journal edited by the Department of Anthropology at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. It is a biannual publication, in open access format and with a blind peer-reviewed process. The journal is dedicated to the fields of anthropology and is indexed in international databases. Its editorial board is composed by anthropologists from all over the world.
We would like to invite you to submit contributions in the form of short reports to the special issue reflecting on the effects of Covid-19 on various research experiences. The texts will form a special section of issue 29 for field reports and short reports.
We are particularly interested in discussions on decision-making processes, on vulnerable groups (indigenous and rural population, undocumented immigrants, the urban poor, prison populations, homeless, women and children, the elderly, ethnic and religious minorities). We are also interested in discussions on forms of resistance and refusal to scientific knowledge and/or public health policies. We also welcome discussions on the moral frameworks organizing the experience of pandemic and crisis in the contemporary global context. Collaborations are expected to cover various geographical areas, all over the world not only Latin America.
The texts must be original and unpublished.
Submissions may be presented in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
Submissions must be written in accessible language, suitable for international readers of multiple backgrounds. The texts must have between 2,000 and 3,000 words, so that short articles will have priority.
Texts must conform to the journal's standards and the ethical principles of anthropological work.
Submissions should be made through the journal's electronic system at www.revistas.usp.br/cadernosdecampo until May 31, 2019. The selected and approved texts will be published in the June issue of the journal.
