The presence of anthropology in museums has a long tradition, both in the hegemonic and subaltern traditions of the discipline. Since the late twentieth century, the treatment of collections of "the others" of modernity, historically linked to the expertise of anthropologists, has been the subject of critical questioning from different places, both academic and non-academic. This text presents a personal view of these issues in order to propose a specific way of doing and thinking about anthropology in museums.
