The objective of this article is to show the dynamics of receptivity, based on the compositions and decompositions that the categories of being at home and being a visitor present in the Malhadinha Quilombola Community, located in Tocantins. Based on the mobility of these categories, derived from the art of welcoming, I show the complexity of quilombola social relations in scenes of affection, surveillance, avoidance and/or control, among quilombo residents and so important for the group's sociality. Thus, the work seeks to contribute to the ethnographic literature regarding hospitality but based on daily life in Melha. In methodological terms, the research is the result of ethnography carried out, still in my doctorate, during the years 2019 to 2023, for this, I make use of the material collected in field research.
