The present paper aims to understand the social meanings of the new concepts about cultural heritage in a local society: the case of preservation of a set of 48 houses, considered representative of the italian immigration architecture in Antônio Prado, Rio Grande do Sul. Studying this specific situation, it is also my objective to clarify issues, such as, social memory and cultural heritage within the modern complex societies.Downloads
