Mario Bellatin's scriptural project is one of the most complex and interesting in current Latin American narrative. Beginning in the early 1990s based on the reduction of its resources, giving rise to a sober and austere writing, this writing has evolved to reach the constant recursion of rewriting as a practice, as well as the fusion of genres, the inclusion of photographs and the elaboration of apocrypha. This work seeks to probe the void in Bellatin's literature, both as a notion present in the author's reflections (Bellatin 2006), as an instance that functions as a limit and condition of possibility of his writing practices. The void in a three-sided dimension: the void that emerges from a writing that tends to elision elements, the one that haunts all finally published writing with regard to narrative rationality, but also the void of that which cannot reach with the word.
