The purpose ofthis article is to present a series oftranslations of Sakutarô HagiwaraJ s poems to the Portuguese discussing some aspects of this poetic and the Japanese poetic of this period as well as the way that some sociologic, politic and economic aspects determined - as they did to the West -the route of Japanese poetry from Taishô till now.
