Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an important tool in various spheres of society, especially in the field of education. We are now seeing the first generation of teachers who are making educational use of AI. This study has two objectives: a) to analyze the trend in research related to Educational Artificial Intelligence (EAI) through the PRISMA Statement guidelines; and b) to evaluate the beliefs of Dominican teachers about AIEd, in which a survey was administered to 455 teachers who teach at different educational levels. The results of the systematic review reveals that both teachers and students find IAEd to be a useful tool for teaching and learning. It promotes the development of active methodologies, although it presents certain challenges in the evaluation process. In the quantitative component, values that highlight averages of 5.91 for the use of the IAEd system in the future, it would be easy for me to become a proficient user; IAEd is useful for learning (5.99). On the other hand, the Mann Whitney U test showed that there are differences between the medians of the variables age, and teacher interaction as an IAEd user. Among the limitations, it that teacher training in AIEd issues and its implementation in the classroom was not analyzed. Therefore, this study provides a basis for future studies focused on teaching management and student learning strategies
