Abstract

This interview was held in July 13, 2017 during my period of stay as Visiting Scholar at Center for Place, Culture and Politics (CPCP) of The City University of New York – Graduate Center (CUNY-GC) located in New York (United States), under the formal supervision of Professor David Harvey. Although markedly panoramic, the purpose was to shed light on a recent moment in the author's theoretical trajectory regarding his interpretative and analytical elaboration of the process of global expansion of capitalism in its neoliberal phase. The professor also discusses the intertwining of his personal and academic life, the fundamental role of Critical Geography, Marx's actuality, among other themes valued by Geography and Marxism. Finally, it is an invitation to reflect upon political, economic and social aspects from the problematics and challenges put by current forms of capital accumulation in its geographical processes.

  • Adriane de Sousa Camargo, Universidade de São Paulo
    Discente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia Humana pela Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas (FFLCH) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), nível Doutorado. Mestrado em Relações Internacionais pelo Instituto de Relações Internacionais (IRI) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), com ênfase em Política Internacional, e graduada em Relações Internacionais pela Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências (FFC) da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). A pesquisadora tem produção e pesquisa nas Relações Internacionais e na Geografia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: transnacionalização de movimentos sociais, agricultura, ambiente, hegemonia, globalização e imperialismo.
