Abstract

The following paper aims to point out – through theoretical reflection and didactic practice – how films and multimodal novels can assume an important role in a didactic approach which focalizes on the learners as active cultural subjects. If texts and films in a foreign language present contents related to aspects and contexts of their own experience and cultural knowledge, if they tell stories that involve students cognitively and emotionally, they will contribute to heightening the narrative, textual and intercultural competences, finally contributing to their education and formation of their personality.

Author Biography

Simona Bartoli Kucher, Università di Graz

Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in Letterature comparate sulla novella di Pirandello e di Schnitzler presso le università di Klagenfurt e di Graz. Insegna didattica, lingua e cultura italiana all’Istituto di Romanistica dell’Università di Graz; sta scrivendo la tesi di libera docenza sulla didattica della letteratura e del film in lingua straniera. Ha pubblicato numerosi saggi e articoli su questi temi, oltre che nella collana Quaderni di cinema italiano per stranieri (Perugia: Guerra Edizioni).
