Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the V ygotsk y's concept of environment in The problem of the environment in Paedology, where he argues that paedology does not study the environment itself, since that is the object of other sciences . The interest of the paedology is to investigate the role and the influence of the environment on child development. In this statement, there is some apparent ambiguity which does to be enlighted. The question is: how can the paedology understand the role the environment plays in the development of the child and not know what environment is? Explain this apparent paradox is the scope of this text.
