The purpose of this dossier is the result of the international seminar "Influences in the Arts from Dakar" and aims to bring together researchers and specialists to reflect on the historical vibrancy of the city of Dakar, the creation, and circulation of arts flowing from various African contexts, both internationally and regionally.

Este dossiê apresenta o panorama atual dos estudos geoarqueológicos na América Latina, reunindo trabalhos apresentados no 10º Developing International Geoarchaeology – Taller del Grupo de Estudios Geoarqueológicos de América Latina (10º DIG-GEGAL). O encontro acadêmico internacional ocorreu na Universidade de São Paulo, entre 20 e 24 de novembro de 2023, e, pela primeira vez, reuniu no mesmo espaço os dois congressos mais relevantes da geoarqueologia em escala global: o DIG, que congrega especialistas atuantes sobretudo no hemisfério norte, e o GEGAL, que articula a comunidade latino-americana da área.
Fruto das trocas e debates daquela semana, o dossiê reúne estudos que examinam os efeitos das atividades humanas sobre solos e sedimentos, a compreensão dos processos geogênicos, biogênicos e antropogênicos subjacentes às histórias deposicionais e pós-deposicionais dos sítios arqueológicos, bem como o aprovisionamento de matérias-primas para artefatos e estruturas em diferentes contextos.
As contribuições também exploram um amplo leque de métodos e técnicas, como análises texturais, mapeamento, prospecção geofísica, micromorfologia, química multi-elementar, análises mineralógicas e moleculares, entre outros.
The Revista do Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia has been published since 1991, replacing the previous Revista Dédalo and the Revista de Pré-História. Its goal is to promote the dissemination of scientific research of excellence in the areas of Archaeology, Ethnology and Museology. The publication is semiannual, following the review system by peers and holds a public access policy with open full content, with streaming in receiving articles. It publishes original texts in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French and Italian in the following ways: articles that present the results of original scientific research, the development of methodology, or bibliographical or theoretical extensive reviews on the topics covered by the journal, unpublished book, theses, dissertations and other productions reviews that have academic relevance, notes to preliminary and partial results of original or in development research, interviews with renowned professionals in the areas of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology. In order to ensure speed to the display of content, approved articles and notes will be published in ahead of print until the number is complete.
