Abstract

This article reports on a study among internship administrators in leading hospitality and tourism programs in Ecuador. Based on two previous studies among students and employers in the field, the study attempted to identify best practices and gauge internship coordinator opinions that could serve as suggestions to other hospitality and tourism programs as they work towards finding better ways to create, assess, and administer their internship programs and to address the needs of their students and the hospitality and tourism industries and enhance the connection between practical industry experience and classroom theory. Suggestions for future research are provided.
