This paper intends to discuss about metonymic aspects present in the work Luanda, Lisbon, Paraíso (2019), by the Portuguese writer Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida. The objective is to reflect, above all, on the relevance of metonymy as a potentiating element of the metaphor of social exclusion in the post-colonial transit from the transformation of the characters' bodies. The methodology we used was bibliographical, with theoretical support in the authors Chevalier & Gheerbrant (2020), Fischer (2014), Franco (2021) and Kilomba (2019), among others. In addition, we seek to remain close to the analysis of the literary text chosen for the study. As a result, we observed the metonymy of the body as a narrative strategy, which can contribute to the perception of a lack of belonging and social place in the work Luanda, Lisbon, Paraíso, by Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida.
