In this essay we present the project “The short-story in Portuguese language” (approved in notice FAPERGS 03/2012 ARD), in which we developed a didactical task with the gender in the Portuguese language, making a selection of African, Brazilian and Portuguese writers to be read in the classroom with students from the 6th grade of Elementary school to senior High school, according to adequate themes to each age and grade, in two schools of Elementary education in the city of Cerro largo – RS. After the application of the proposed activities, we perceive that the reading of these literary texts contributed to the development of relations between the reader and the world.Downloads
