Declaration of Conflict of Interest

In the event of an assumption and finding of unauthorized derivation or textual copies not credited as citations or without consent from authors who feel affected by any kind of plagiarism, it is necessary to contact the editorial team directly (through the "Contacts" menu) and request the opening of a Conflict of Interest. The author is allowed to declare a Conflict of Interest during the submission process and is recommended in cases of involvement of third parties, especially when the work is a response to another study previously published here or in another journal, with the names of the parties involved credited.

This journal does not consider the standardization (defined by Wikimedia Commons as "self-promotion") on Autobiographies and studies developed that involve the Author as an Object of Research, as a Conflict of Interest, due to the profile of this characterization being included in the classification of Authorial Research compatible with full maintenance of scientificity as long as they must describe this nature of the work as Methodology.

IMPORTANT: During the submission process, the author MUST DECLARE the existence of a Conflict of Interest such as:

  • As Academic Research linked to a Research Project and exclusive academic purpose or;
  • Self direct involvement (Character - Autobiography - As Research Object Himself) or;
  • With the involvement of third parties (Interview and Report Record at a specific date) or;
  • Inseparable involvement of third parties (Research Contracted by Person(s)/Organisation(s) );

In case of use of third party data without authorization or without prior consent of those involved (such as distortion of registration or positions) this constitutes a Conflict of Interest. In this situation, it is recommended that those involved should submit this request directly to the Editorial Team Responsible for the menu: About --> Contact

  • Research WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF MENTIONED PARTIES implies an IMMEDIATE CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Such a research profile is NOT COVERED by the Declaration of Ethical Principles in Research (COPE);
  • Research involving the inseparable involvement of a Company aimed at promoting a product or brand implies an IMMEDIATE CONFLICT OF INTEREST whose scientific nature is called into doubt and compromises several topics of the Declaration of Ethical Principles in Research (COPE)

In cases of studies involving the study of products or brands, there is a need for no formal or informal involvement of co-authors with the company, in order to avoid framing the study as a marketing promotion in contrast to the academic approach of independence from the marketing or financial issue of any product covered. In this case, analysis that includes comparisons of product usability is welcome, such as non-confirmation of the case in line with corporate advertising or marketing.

The Conflict of Interest EXCLUDES from this situation changes in the positioning of Authors, Interviewees, Chronicles or Autobiographies in a period subsequent to the date of publication, considering the compatibility of the historical record in correspondence with the opinions recorded at the time of carrying out the published study,

Important note: any request to adopt mandatory Copyright licensing to replace the Creative Commons format of publication in Revista Alterjor will be disregarded as a Conflict of Interest. as submission involves the authors' agreement to Creative Commons Licensing. In this journal, only authors (except translators) remain Copyright holders, although the publication of works in Revista Alterjor establishes Creative Commons licensing, requiring the attribution of authorship in any reference to works accessed here.

Plagiarism as a Conflict of Interest and immediate disposal

The finding of plagiarism can be notified both through the collaboration of users and through the use of the Turnitin tool, which is decisive in the detection and classification of plagiarism, resulting in the automatic discarding of the text with this characterization, even in cases of approval in dirty evaluation processes. Underreporting of plagiarism occurred due to the unavailability of Turnitin, making periods in which plagiarism detection tools were scarce or restricted to hiring companies without an agreement with the institution assigned to the publication susceptible to this situation. from Journal Alterjor
