Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- The submission of the contribution, in open access, will not be charged by any Article Processing system (APC), and will maintain the "Non-Commercial (NC)" attribution in accordance with Creative Commons licensing
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) was properly described as methodology and its application were warned. Furthermore, IA Tools must not be credited as author, co-authoring nor translator (mainly ChatGPT, Grok, Copilot, Gemini, Meta IA among another IA Tool)
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines;
- The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor"; the original submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice (Libre Office) or RTF format; URLs for references were provided whenever possible.
Articles
Addressed to senior researchers who want to socialize their original intellectual productions in the area of popular and alternative journalism. Works must be 10 to 15 pages long (or 27 thousand to 34 thousand characters) and dossiers must be 15 to 30 pages long (or 27 thousand to 81 thousand characters). Texts must begin with a summary in Portuguese, typed in size 12, containing 5 to 10 lines and three to five key words, single-spaced.
Articles must be sent in electronic copy saved in a file in RTF format (Rich Text Format) or in DOC format (Word 97/2003). Tables and graphs must be included in the text file or sent in separate files, with indications in the body of the text about their location in numerical form (e.g.: table 1, table 2, graph 1, graph 2). Accepted image files: GIF or JPEG format. Only unpublished articles will be accepted.
- Bibliographic references must comply with ABNT's Technical standards for book presentation (NBR 6029);
- For references in the body of the text, although the North American standard of references is accepted (throughout the text, citing the author, year of the work and page), the European standard is preferred, which uses footnotes with the author's full name, name of the work and page;
- Figures or illustrations are accepted in the body of the text and included in the page count, and their presentation must also follow ABNT standards;
- Paper acceptance confirmations will be sent exclusively by email;
- Valid electronic file formats: "Word 97/2003" (.DOC) and "Rich Text" (.RTF); Tables in "Word 97/2003" (.DOC), Rich Text (.RTF) and "Excel 97/2003" (.XLS); Illustrations only in JPEG (.jpg) or Static GIF (.gif).
Reportage
This section comprises articles, journalistic reports, photo reports or slideshows about initiatives in the area of popular and alternative journalism, with a size of 3 to 15 pages (or 7 thousand to 34 thousand characters).
Texts must be sent in electronic copy saved in a file in RTF format (Rich Text Format) or in DOCX format (Word 97/2003). Tables and graphs must be included in the text file or sent in separate files, with indications in the body of the text about their location in numerical form (e.g.: table 1, table 2, graph 1, graph 2). Accepted image files: GIF or JPEG format. Only unpublished articles will be accepted.

Reviews
This will include critical analyzes of recent or fundamental books and theses for the discussion on popular and alternative journalism. They must be 3 to 7 pages long (or 7,000 to 16,000 characters).

Tables and graphs must be included in the text file or sent in separate files, with indications in the body of the text about their location in numerical form (e.g.: table 1, table 2, graph 1, graph 2). Accepted image files: GIF or JPEG format. Only unpublished articles will be accepted.

Interview
Intended for interviews with professionals or academics working in the area of popular and alternative journalism, with a size of 3 to 15 pages (or 7 thousand to 34 thousand characters).

Research Report
Addressed to researchers at any level (senior, junior, advanced training or scientific initiation) who want to share the results of research carried out with or without funding. These texts must have 10 thousand to 14 thousand characters (including spaces) containing: title and summary, with three to five keywords; mini CV of the author(s) and research advisor, with up to 280 characters, body of the text and bibliography in accordance with ABNT standards. Citations must be made in the body of the text in parentheses or through automatic referencing in Word or Writer. Items in the article must be numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals. Texts must be sent in electronic copy saved in a file in RTF (Rich Text Format) or in DOCX format (Word 97/2003). Tables and graphs must be included in the text file or sent in separate files, with indications in the body of the text about their location in numerical form (e.g.: table 1, table 2, graph 1, graph 2). Accepted image files: GIF or JPEG format.
