This article focuses on the issue of visuality as an orchestrator of the theatrical scene, taking into account the translational process by means of audio description (AD), from the perspective of spectacular enjoyment by people with visual disability. In order to explore this approach, we will address the translational character of audio description and its articulation with the theatre. Then, we will focus on an audio description experience, still in progress, of the show “Abrazo”, by the group Grupo de Teatro Clowns de Shakespeare - Natal/RN. And, finally, we will prioritize the reflection on audio description as a practice of expanding the act of looking, returning to the etymological nature of the theater, in such a way that the aesthetic focus of audio description can accompany the poetics of the scene, as from visual disability.
