The article is an excerpt of the present research entitled "The crisis of the concept of action in contemporary theatre and Joseph Beuys’ Aktiones." The research refers the approximation between theatre and artistic practices that aspire an experience with the "real" as performance art. Through the Aktion the German artist Joseph Beuys aims to investigate important elements for rethinking the creative process of artists, which are amongst the areas of theatre and performance in respect to the construction of an expanded action that may extend beyond art field.Downloads

Ela descreve o tipo de comunicação que busca estabelecer como um processo de “transmissão direta de energia entre o artista e o público”. A possibilidade dessa qualidade de conexão efetivamente ocorrer dependeria de um árduo trabalho do artista sobre si mesmo, que Abramovic denomina “limpar a casa”. As suas técnicas muitas vezes se assemelham a fragmentos de práticas ascéticas encontradas em diversas tradições e reinventadas por ela. Testes de resistência física, tolerância da dor, mudança dos hábitos alimentares, do sono, da sexualidade, exercícios de silêncio, práticas que colocam a performer em situações limite e que por isso mesmo poderiam fazer emergir uma nova qualidade de consciência e de comunicação.
