Portuguese translation of the original "Shimmer: When All You Love Is Being Trashed" (2017) by Deborah Bird Rose, published in the book "Arts of Living on a Damaged Planet: Ghosts and Monsters of the Anthropocene" edited by Anna Lowenhaupt Tsing et al., and published by the Minnesota Press.
Through her writings on extinction, ethics and Aboriginal ecological philosophy, DEBORAH BIRD ROSE is a key figure in animating the environmental humanities. Her work, based on long-term research with Aboriginal peoples in Australia, focuses on multispecies communities in this time of climate change. She was a professor in the Environmental Humanities Program at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and co-founder of the journal Environmental Humanities. Her most recent book was “Wild Dog Dreaming: Love and Extinction” (2011). Deborah Bird Rose passed away on the 21st of December 2018 in Sydney, Australia.
