Abstract

In the following article the author seeks to study the relationships between the psychoanalytical concept of the mirror stage and the emergence of psychomotor disorders in children. The essay starts by considering motor development as it is traditionally understood by Biology and it ends by proposing a metapsychology of development. The research is based on the psychoanalytical treatment of a child with a diagnosis of Specific Developmental Disorder of the Motor Function, and it served as an element for the metapsychological construction of the case and for the presentation of the findings of a psychoanalytical research.
