Proposing a metaphor between grammar and affective experience, the poem reflects on the teaching of the "verb to love," a learning process commonly associated with the search for a "loving complement." Criticizing such "affective education," the lyrical self invites the reader to denaturalize the common "conjunction" surrounding romantic relationships, saluting the essentiality of self-love.
