Peer Review

Manuscripts submitted for publication in the Journal of Cultural Studies are initially evaluated by our editorial team, in order to verify the consistency of the manuscript with the journal's standards, focus and scope. We also use the iThenticate software (service provided by CrossRef - https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check) to identify similarity with previously published texts in order to prevent possible plagiarism situations.

Once the editorial process has begun, the manuscript is submitted for blind review by one or more ad hoc evaluators, who may recommend acceptance, indicate necessary corrections or reject the text. The final decision regarding publication rests with the editors. However, the information and concepts expressed in the published texts are the sole responsibility of the authors.

Open Access, No Submission Charges, and Copyright

Authors who publish in the Revista de Estudos Culturais retain all copyright and publishing rights to their manuscripts. We encourage the dissemination of their content in other media and the deposit of their work in institutional repositories, requesting that they provide appropriate attribution to the publication when citing it in future citations and presentations.
