Since the legal-media-legislative coup that has been implemented in Brazil, the conservative movement that has been acting in the country has been working to impose demobilization of the population in the struggle for their social rights. In the process of Paulo Freire's conscientization, the commitment to social transformation takes effect when people's social contexts are considered in the formation process and where a new worldview is stimulated from the parameters of critical-emancipatory education. This article addresses the reasons why current policies aim to silence social movements. However, people, wherever they operate, are historical subjects and can organize and rebel by proposing different paths to life, work and school. This is the reason why this reactionary movement has been trying to tarnish Paulo Freire's theories.Downloads
