Ethnomusicology studies the music of different ethnic groups and cultural communities from all over the world. Oscillant, on the course of its history, between the scientific analysis of musical systems and ethnographical descriptions of sociocultural contexts, ethnomusicology is not just a branch of musicology, but it is also a branch of anthropology and ethnology. This text presents a history of ethnomusicology, its methods and research objects, and a description of the ethnomusicologist work.Downloads
