Abstract

The text aims to address the communication process in the context of social movements, focusing on “Movimento dos Atingidos por Barragens”, MAB. The objectives are to understand what is the role of communication in the movement and how it is prepared, how is the participation of those affected people in the process and how their products are worked in communities. This analysis is going to be developed by documentary and bibliographic researches, through open interview. It is concluded that communication is understood by the MAB as a political instrument for plans of national construction and struggles. It happens in a dynamics of formation and information, which makes possible by a collective of communication that, in practice, is beyond the understanding of communication as a mere tool, because materializes as a process
