Abstract

O presente artigo busca compreender a imagem do Poker por meio de uma análise da transmissão televisiva de uma partida válida para a mesa final do BSOP (Brazilian Series of Poker) no programa Poker Night (Band Sports). A princípio, será feita uma introdução sobre a origem do jogo e suas evoluções com o decorrer dos anos a fim de entendermos mais sobre o esporte e sua popularidade. Como metodologia e forma de análise, foi realizada uma decupagem do vídeo dessa transmissão com cortes de cenas, pausas e transcrição de trechos relevantes com o objetivo de compreender a construção narrativa da partida por meio das suas imagens. Nela, serão estudadas, com maior ênfase, as marcas publicitárias inseridas durante o Poker Night e seus elementos visuais. Como resultado, verifica-se um crescente aumento do esporte tanto a partir do fortalecimento da modalidade analisada e adesão de adeptos, quanto da cobertura midiática e publicitária destinadas ao esporte.
