Abstract

Na década de 1930, respondendo às inúmeras transformações que se processam nas relações da mulher com a sociedade, observa-se um crescimento de publicações, seções e suplementos femininos. Todos buscam dialogar com a “mulher moderna”, seja para reforçar antigos valores e retardar os processos de mudança, seja para incentivar as novas imagens em circulação. Entre as seções femininas que surgem neste momento, está A Mulher do Povo, espécie de segundo editorial, assinado por Patrícia Galvão (Pagu), no jornal panfletário O Homem do Povo, editado por ela com Oswald de Andrade. Nestes textos, Pagu dialoga com os modelos de mulher e homem ideal, assinalando o que seriam as mazelas da sociedade de então e os entraves ao estabelecimento de uma nova ordem.
