Abstract

This article aims to discuss the methodological aspects for using historical international newspapers in the development of the International Relations’ History of the Brazilian Military Regime (1964-1985), especially in its relations with the United States. An application is presented for an historic approximation to the object of this research, utilizing a combination of theoretical material from Contemporary History, International Relations Studies and especially Communications, aiming to develop a transdisciplinary ethos to arrive in new analysis and contribute to the amplification of possible historic reports about the period.

    Graduado em Comunicação Social (com habilitação em Jornalismo) pela Universidade de São Paulo (2017) e Mestre em História Contemporânea pela Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2020). Doutorando em História Contemporânea pela Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, na área de História das Relações Internacionais, com foco nas relações entre a Ditadura Militar Brasileira e o Bloco Ocidental da Guerra Fria.
