Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the aesthetic and imagery patterns in brazilian television journalism, through the anchors and presenters, based on the hypothesis that, despite all the transformations in the medium and the increase in diversity and inclusion, the physical and aesthetic appearance of these professionals are still marked by eurocentric characteristics, that is, a thin, white body with straight hair. In addition to analyzing the absence of yellow, indigenous, fat, LGBTQIAPN+ people in front of the cameras on the benches of national television news. In view of the theoretical references and the analysis carried out, it is inferred that the bodies of anchors and presenters of Brazilian television journalism follow Eurocentric standards, that is, a thin and white body.
