Abstract

This article proposes a historical recovery of the first broadcaster in the interior of Brazil: channel 8, TV Triângulo, installed in the city of Uberlândia, in the state of Minas Gerais. Interviews were conducted with people who participated in the consolidation of this media vehicle, in addition to documentary research and a biographical survey. The temporal cut comprises the year of the station’s inauguration, 1964, until 1971, which constitutes the first phase of transmissions as an independent broadcaster, without ties and/or exclusivity contracts with other TV channels.
