Abstract

The article seeks to contribute to recording the history of the alternative press in Paraná during the civil-military dictatorship, with an emphasis on publications that circulated in the early 1980s. Based on bibliographic and documentary research on resistance to the military dictatorship established in Brazil during the period 1964-1985, we intend to identify the role of the alternative press in the visibility of the demands and flags of social movements. Based on the characteristics of the newspapers Maria (Curitiba, 1984), Boca no Trombone (Curitiba, 1980) and Nosso Tempo (Foz do Iguaçu, 1980), some elements are presented that make up a narrative about social struggles and opposition to authoritarianism in Paraná.
