About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Aspas Journal is a biannual publication of the Graduate Program in Performing Arts at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (PPGAC at ECA USP).

The aim of Aspas Journal is to propose, stimulate, and disseminate the most recent research conducted in the field of Performing Arts, in its multiple aesthetic, epistemological, and methodological possibilities that may contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge and reflections in the area.

It is a digital, open-access edition intended for the publication of articles and texts in multiple formats within the field of knowledge production in Performing Arts.


Target Audience

Researchers in Performing Arts.


Peer Review Process

Each section of Aspas Journal has specific evaluation criteria. However, all submissions undergo scrutiny by reviewers, based on criteria established regarding format, formatting standards, relevance to the issue’s theme, significance, and originality.

Academic articles are evaluated under a double-blind review process.

Reviewers, external to the Editorial Team, are selected for their recognized work in the field.

The submission-to-publication process takes on average eight months.


Frequency

Biannual (two issues per year).


Open Access Policy

Aspas Journal provides free and immediate access to its content, following the principle that free availability promotes greater democratization of scientific knowledge.


Funding

Aspas Journal is funded by the PPGAC at ECA USP, as well as occasional funds, such as those from the USP Program to Support Periodical Scientific Publications linked to the Agency of Libraries and Digital Collections (ABCD).

 

Indexing Services

 

Archiving

Aspas Journal is hosted on the USP Journals Portal, which guarantees the preservation of its digital content through the Open Journal System, based on the PKP PN system. The content is also preserved by the Cariniana Network of IBICT (Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology), which is part of the LOCKSS program.

Articles archived by the author or rejected by reviewers will be stored in the journal's database and can be retrieved by the author, provided they have not been published in previous issues.

 


Fee Waiver Policy for Authors

Aspas Journal does not charge any fees for manuscripts submitted for evaluation or published, regardless of whether the authors are Brazilian or from other nationalities.


Plagiarism Prevention Policy
