This work constitutes an action-research report in performance sciences in the operatic field that discusses issues related to philosophy and playfulness in a complete production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute presented in November 2024. This report presents the musical and theatrical impacts and developments of the questions made by the creative team during the production of the opera, which was presented in its original version and also in a children's version. These questions involved controversial points of Schikaneder's libretto, especially the aspects of misogyny and racism identified in the work, and propose solutions for the performative treatment of a contemporary lecture that, more than a re-reading of a work from the past, seeks a deep understanding of the philosophical aspects of the work, so that it is possible to subsume the historical issues of racial discussions and the role of women in society in the transcendental vision that emanates from Mozart's musical dramaturgy.
