Da Natureza, de Parmênides de Eleia

I present a complete hexametric translation of the fragments of Parmenides of Elea into Brazilian Portuguese. The translation is preceded by an introduction, in which I expose the larger context of my work in relation to the Archaic epic tradition and comment on two poetic approaches already carried out in the translation of Parmenides’ fragments, as well as my theoretical assumptions regarding the translation process as “parallel recreation”. The general objective of my translation is not to uncomplicate Parmenides’ poem, but to recomplicate it, enhancing an aesthetic experience focused both on the specific poetic imbrications of the text and on its epic constitution.
