The humanitarian as capital accumulation: from mobility constraints to housing issues

The article explore the complex dynamics about migration in Italy. It is the outcome of 15-years-long fieldwork among Eritreans and Ethiopians in Italy, Sweden, Sudan and Ethiopia itself. The main focus of the article is about the value extraction connected to the Humanitarian management of the moving bodies. The article fall in that debate that try to shed light on the inner connection between capitalism, nation-state and Humanitarian, by going beyond the opposition humanitarism/securitarism.
