The objective of this article is to present the pamphletary action of Eulálio Motta, highlighting the production, circulation and reception of leaflets in the backlands of Bahia. Although his pamphlet action has been extended for more than 60 years, the writer’s collection contains only 57 of these printed. These texts reveal important characteristics of the cultural history of the writing and reading practices backlands of Bahia, involving the action of the pamphleteer and his relations with the owners of typographies and political authorities. The correspondence of Eulálio Motta, his diaries, manuscripts, and dactyloscripts, among other documents, are used as sources to understand his pamphlet action.Downloads
