Abstract

This paper takes the concept of “interpretive community” by Barbie Zelizer and proposes its extension, from a perspective that seeks to comprehend the processes of circulation and authentication of values that govern the ways in which journalism perceives and constructs realities. In this sense, the extension of the concept indicates other important players in this “community” as information sources, the “readers” and the news media, leaving a glimpse of a wider network of interactions that shape and become multifaceted the contours of journalistic phenomena.
