In an exclusive interview to Comunicação & Educação, professor Armand Mattelart, from the University of Paris 8, talks about his experience, in the 1980's, at the head of the mission of studying and indicating proposals for a project aimed at democratizing access to information and communication technologies. He talks about his concern on teaching Communications and about his books that aim at putting into context, historically and socially, the different lines and tendencies of the communicational thought. Armand Mattelart discusses the communication/education relation, stressing the importance of creating, in the schools, a place for Communication researchers to perform, researchers who be able to teach in the Educational space. He also emphasizes the importance of questioning the commercial and private logic that progressively sweep the public space.
