Abstract

This review discusses the novel The Human Stain by American author Philip Roth, published in the early 2000s. Reading the work offers two interesting perspectives on the contemporary condition, which are explored throughout the text: the issue of identity in the novel's central characters and moralism, which serves as the catalyst for the story.
